Withering And Thriving

A Pandemic Diary – It Is Getting Better

October 20th, 2020

Royal Park, Melbourne, Australia

English version:

Yesterday, only one new COVID-19 case was confirmed in Victoria, with zero deaths. Today, Melbourne officially began to further lift the restrictions, end the lockdown and restart the economy. In the city with the longest lockdown in the world, it seems that we are finally out of the second wave of the pandemic.

Like every day in the months of lockdown, today, I went for a walk in the nearby park again.

In the front, a dead wood lies on the desolate shrivelled grass. In the distance, a withered tree stands stubbornly. Occasionally, people who exercise pass by it. In this vast world, dark clouds are rolling, and the bitter wind is blowing.

Is spring coming?

Spring has not yet come.

I look forward to spring coming.

Spring is about to come.

中文版(Chinese version):

Lush, lush grass on the plains,

Withers and thrives once a year.

Wildfire cannot burn it out completely,

When the spring breeze blows, it comes back to life again.
